CONCERTO featured in Actu-Environnement

We are pleased to see the CONCERTO project highlighted in Actu Environnement, showcasing recent research at Paris-Saclay on the development of limestone-free cement.

Traditional cement production remains one of the largest industrial sources of CO₂ emissions, primarily due to limestone calcination. The article highlights how CONCERTO explores alternative binder systems that could significantly reduce, if not eliminate, these process emissions.

Funded under Horizon Europe by the EIC – European Innovation Council (EIC Pathfinder), CONCERTO investigates magnesium-based binders derived from ultra-mafic rocks, with the potential not only to lower emissions but also to contribute to long-term carbon storage over their lifecycle.

This media coverage underlines the growing interest in innovative solutions that can support the transition towards climate-neutral construction.
